Experience Opelousas' colorful Native American heritage at the 4th annual Southwest Louisiana Attakapas Opelousas Prairie Tribe Festival. Enjoy traditional dancing, drumming, arts & crafts, storytelling, food and special guest speakers. Learn traditional dance, jewelry making and basket weaving. Bring the entire family for fun and educational kids' activities including face painting, storytelling and a talking stick contest. This is a family friendly, alcohol-free event.

All day – Dancing by the Attakapas Opelousas Prairie Tribe

10am – Opening Ceremony (Blessing) Deputy Chief Merniva Broussard Francois
11am – Grand Entry + Presentation of Flags
11:30am – Education speaker, Harvey Whitford
12pm – Lunch
3pm – Silent Auction
3:30pm – Opelousas Blacklegged Drummers
4pm – Closing Ceremony
