Life on the Mississippi - One Book One Community Kickoff Party

Event Date: February 11th, 2017

East Baton Rouge Parish Library
Main Branc
7711 Goodwood Blvd.
Baton Rouge, LA

The East Baton Rouge Parish Library will kick off its spring reading program, One Book One Community, with a party at the Main Branch Library, celebrating Life on the Mississippi by Mark Twain. Half historical account, half memoir, the book begins with the background of the river, including Twainĺs own personal experience with it and how it shaped his nineteenth-century Missouri upbringing. This free party promises music, thematically-appropriate food (catfish and Mississippi mud), games for children, literary-themed discussions, a Mark Twain impersonator, and more.
