What you need to know!
The Acadian exiles who settled along Louisiana's bayous created a distinctive Cajun culture based on life in a watery realm. The center shares their way of life through a film, special and permanent exhibits, musical performances, and boat tours of Bayou Lafourche. Admission to the center and to most programs is free

The Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center is open year-round; it is closed on federal holidays and Mardi Gras. Closures for Mardi Gras are determined annually based on site accessibility and safety for visitors and employees. Announcements will be posted accordingly.

National Day of Mourning for President Jimmy Carter

All Jean Lafitte NHP&P and New Orleans Jazz NHP offices and visitor centers are closed on Thursday January 9 for the National Day of Mourning for President Carter. All sites will reopen on Friday, January 10 at our regular hours.
